Albion’s Seed presents American history through founder effects. Its basic argument is that the settlers of the Virginia Tidewater, Massachusetts Bay, the Delaware Valley, and the Appalachian backcountry each brought a distinct culture from a particular region of the British Isles.
Those cultures created founding effects that continued to ripple through American history. I find this extremely fascinating, and the book is also well loved within rationalist communities.
